MAIL DAY! / Box Breaks - Midwest Break - RANDOM TEAM BREAKS! - Topps Museum / Stadium Club Chrome 2020
Through COMC, I recently started to follow a few new collectors on Twitter, one of which lead me to @midwestboxbreak. As you may guess by their username, they do breaks! I checked out their site and unfortunately I missed out on a couple pick-your-team Phillies spots, so I decided to try out something different. I’ve seen these before and never taken part, but this guy had a “random team” break where every spot is basically randomized. Obviously the goal is the Phillies or Blue Jays, but as long as I don’t get a team full of bums like the Detroit Tigers I think it’ll be a fun time!

2 boxes and not one card! Can you believe that? That’s just how it goes sometimes though. That’s why breaks are a gamble!
This guy is awesome and wants to make things amazing for his people, especially new customers. He straight up acknowledged the break sucked for me, knew I was a Phillies fan, and pulled out a box of graded Bryce Harper cards and gave me one! A prospect card, too! Initially due to the design I thought I was getting a graded Harper auto, then I quickly figured out that was just how the card was designed. Even still, and incredible card to have in the collection, and something he absolutely did not have to do. He won me over as a customer on that one, and I instantly bought in on another break and got one of their “chips” as a token of support.
The guy who does the breaks is a big Yankees fan, so seeing an Aaron Judge thrown in here (which was awesome, I like Judge) got a laugh out of me. Trying to convert us all to Yankees fans, I suppose!

I could watch breaks of Stadium Club all day. I LOVE this series. I usually don’t care for chrome cards, but I was curious how well the chrome concept would work with the cool pictures they used. It was mentioned on stream during the break, but this is the type of series that takes you back to collecting in your youth. When we were young it wasn’t about the hits or flipping cards, but the cool pictures we found on the cards. Stadium Club uses the absolute coolest pictures.

What are the chances I would hit the Twins on both randomized breaks!? They’re not a team I aim to collect, but there’s enough players on there I like. Nelson Cruz is one of my favourite players. I can’t say enough good thing about Ben & Midwest Breaks - they have a close knit community who seems to all have each other’s best interest in mind. I’m happy I checked them out, and these definitely aren’t the only two breaks I’ll be getting in on with Midwest! (spoiler alert... I’ve already hit a few more)
