Growing up, for as long as I knew about rap & hip hop I knew about Nas and his style. For whatever reason though, it wasn’t until God’s Son hit that my love for Nas really clicked. The first two singles (“I Can” & “Made You Look”) had me hooked, and I borrowed the CD from my buddy cause I had to hear the rest.  Not everything on this album is a hit, but upon a re-listen in 2024 it’s a comfortable no skip for me. I remembered not being into a few songs (such as “Warrior Song”) when I was younger seem to connect for me now.  My favourite song on the album is even a surprise to me - “Thugz Mansion”. I’ve been collecting cards for years, but it was only recently (the last year or so) that I started occasionally hitting up card shows in my area. It’s become a bit of a fun routine with one of my best friends where we’ll hit up a card shows, a record shop, maybe a comic shop and just make an afternoon of it.. I don’t normally buy much (things often feel higher priced than some avenues online, and I’m not much one for negotiating) but I’ll normally flip some cheap boxes for things I find fun. This time it oddly became a football day. I say that cause I think every other card show I’ve gone to has seen me leaving with a handful of baseball cards. I’ve been on a big Madden kick lately and an idea hit me.. The Chicago Bears season has been better than I expected, Williams after a shaky start has shown he’s what people expected him to be.. but I’m not delusional to think the team is anywhere near winning it all.. but when WILL it happen? Who knows, but I’d be curious to see how long it takes EA Sports to make it happen without me intervening. The plan? Start a franchise mode, control nothing, and simulate. Then simulate some more. And keep going until it tells me that the Chicago Bears are Super Bowl champions. But it makes me select a team, so I chose the most irrelevant team possible with the intent to do nothing as I simulate: The New York Giants. How long will it take!? Will we get to the point that an MVP is a system generated rookie, cause we’re  *that*  deep into it? We’ll see! It was a gift from my wife knowing it was some Wu Tang Clan + something I hadn’t heard which is always fun for me. Honestly not a bad track on here, but also nothing that overly stands out. Solid to just toss on in the background as I’m gaming. If I had to pick a standout track, it’s probably Crazy 8’s . It’s a solid beat, with Remedy, Method Man, Ghostface, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, Insepctah Deck & some others firing off quick 8 bar verses.

For the first time in over two years… I’m back? Life's been chaotic from a few different angles - work stinks, raising a kid is a lot of work, home ownership is expensive & exhausting at times.. it didn’t leave a lot of time & mental capacity for blogging. None of that has changed, but my mental approach has a bit, I suppose. Blogging & collecting is something I found relaxing.. I never stopped collecting, but obviously I did stop blogging. Time to get back to it.. in two years cards have stayed persistent as a collection hobby but figures have slowed down (with a slight shift from wrestling to Marvel) and I’ve started collecting records as well.
